Born at his father's bakery in Pennsburg, PA . He lived most of his life in Pennsburg. Graduated from East Greenville (PA) High School in 1925. Graduated from Muhlenberg College in Allentown PA in 1932. From 1925 on he was a school teacher, first at one room country schools, later at Red Hill, Kulpsville, Lansdale and finally at North Penn Junior High School. He was also a Real Estate Broker, and was the Justice of the Peace for Pennsburg from 1932 through 1968. He married Helen Brogley of Bally in 1947. After retiring from teaching in 1972, he was elected to the Upper Perkiomen School Board.
